BEFORE CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To ensure your child receives the most aligned, calming, and safe reiki experience, please review the preparation guidelines below:

  1. Hydrate Well - Drink water throughout the day. Hydration supports smooth energy flow.

  2. Eat lightly - Have a light meal or snack 1-2 hours before. Avoid heavy, greasy, or sugar-rich foods.

  3. Reduce stimulation - If possible, limit screen time, loud environments, and stressful interactions before the session. Encourage quiet play, coloring, or soft music beforehand. Let your child bring a comfort item (toy, blanket, stuffed animal, etc.)

  4. Prepare your child emotionally. Explain reiki to your child in simple terms. “This is a quiet, relaxing energy session that helps your body feel calm and happy”. Let them know they can ask questions at any time. Assure them that they will remain fully clothed and safe the entire time.

  5. What parents should know before arriving: You must remain on-site during your child’s session. You may stay in the room or step out based on what your child prefers. Reiki is non-invasive and gentle touch that involves the shoulders, head, back or stomach, neck and feet — or no touch if your child prefers. Breaks are allowed at any time.

  6. Please inform the practitioner about: recent injuries, sensitivities, medications, emotional stressors, anxiety around touch. All sessions are adapted to your comfort level.

  7. Arrival expectations - Arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle your child into the space. Late arrivals may shorten the session. Please make sure your child has used the restroom prior to the session.

We look forward to seeing you!
